As a life coach, the core of my beliefs is happiness – that is something subjective. But the immediate environment that one lives in , is the most impressionable factor in creating this virtue.

My family is where I grow!

I grew up in Bangalore, in a warm family setup. My parents were affectionate yet strong and resilient. The most impactful part of one’s life is the years when one is growing up.

My childhood years were very significantly nurtured by my father, someone who I consider blessed to be a part of.

I grew up seeing my parents.

Both colossal in their own way. My father has been an epitome of resilience and unflinching strength.

He held the position of Additional Director collegiate education, Government of Karnataka.

Despite being differently-abled, his vista for life saw progress in finding a better him. His strength in continuing his job and working extra towards completing his doctorate, defying all the challenges that he faced because of his physiology, are all etched in me.

My mother’s undissolved persistence to be with him and also supporting us all along , showed me the value for life and living it big not just surviving.

My husband is my true companion, who is supportive and has taught me how to find joy even in profound difficulty.

I am mother of twin boys, who are entering their wonderful journey as teenagers.

I look at life through a different prism with them.

Schooling

My school years, like most of us, were very impressionable and I learned some of the most important life skills during these years. Initially, I had a huge share of exploring, rebelling, and stumbling and gradually it culminated to carving out the best version of that growing child in me - a growing-up teenager!

Through this exciting trip, I grew up into a well niched out girl, who finally learned to channelise her strengths. I recognized my leadership acumen. I started showing up for roles like the class leader, conducting school functions, taking responsibility for school assemblies, hosting competitions and working behind the scenes too. That was the time I realized how comfortable I was around people, helping, interacting and driving the scenes!

Early Career

I started my career in the Human Resource and Recruitment space with my first venture Global Consultants.

Resourcing was engaging but did not hold my interest as 'the' career choice.

The global market slump in 2000 moved my thoughts towards something I am passionate about.

Grooming and learning the art of it attracted me. I moved into learning skincare professionally and earned certification from Shahnaz Husain Academy, New Delhi. Skin care and hair care being clo9sly connected, I earned certificates in this field from Schwarzkopf Academy and Loreal Academy Bangalore. Going on with my inclination to learn more, I successfully certified from – Kosmoderma Academy, Bangalore as an aesthetician.

I began as an entrepreneur with Calista Beauty Care on March 24, 2004 and it is my prized possession today.

My connect with Calista Clients gave me an understanding into my skill to create a space for people, a space of empathy, compassion and a space where one could just be heard. Sometimes all that a person needs is, to be listened to non-judgmentally.

This skill combined with insights into my transformational personal journey showed me a new direction. That is what set me on a search for ‘something more’ I could do to support others. After all, we all need to be beautiful inside out.

It has been eighteen years since.

Calista Beauty Care seems as old as my journey and as young as the spirited me!

It has been the lectern from where I began taking care of the outer beauty, life coaching would take care of the rest…
